Screenshot Now, Shop Later: The 8 Spring 2027 Shoe Trends That Will Surge in 6 Months
Here, discover every major shoe trend from the spring/summer 2027 runways, from maximalist heels to derby flats.

And just like that, another fashion month has come and gone. The spring/summer 2027 shows officially wrapped up earlier this month and the fashion set is settling back, now is when the real work begins, at least for us. As a fashion editor, the aftermath of fashion month is prime time for sitting down to digest and synthesize everything we just saw over the past few weeks. Away from the celebrity buzz, viral social-media posts, and major headlines, I'm finally able to really study the collections, zoom in on the overlooked details, and report back on the major forces shaping next-season fashion. First up? None other than the shoes.
Yes, clothes might garner the most attention in the immediate hours and days after a runway show, but real ones know that when it comes to what will hit stores and drive sales, it's the shoes and accessories that have the most power and influence to shape seasonal style. With that, I've identified the key themes and top spring shoe trends to know. Designers were aligned on several fronts, primarily that shoes are getting more opulent, maximalist, and, well, fun. Heels arrived with crystal and floral appliqués and gemstone embellishments. Flats, too, are getting more interesting with academic-inspired brogues, derbies, and oxfords all but overtaking humble ballerina flats.
Here, discover these themes and every major shoe trend that will influence fashion from the spring/summer 2027 runways.
The Major Spring/Summer 2027 Shoe Trends
Bejeweled

Minimalism is dead and gone. At least, that's how it's looking on the spring footwear forecast. Prada, Chanel, Carven, and Dries Van Noten all sent shoes down the runway that came heavily embellished or finished with beautiful appliqués. Shoes, but especially heels, are getting fun again.

Square One

Just as quick as we were to declare square-toe shoes "out" they're making a roaring comeback yet again. Soft, rounded shapes took a backseat as these more angular and sharply defined square-toe silhouettes took over. Michael Kors, Altuzarra, Calvin Klein, and Chanel all showed pumps with a crisp, architectural edge that will instantly sharpen a look.

Beautiful Bows

Bows are still the sweetest shoe trend around, and the runways at Miu Miu, Dior, Prada, Chanel, and many more all tied them onto their footwear this season, from the playful pearl-encrusted sandals at Dior to the sleek snakeskin pumps at Miu Miu. Expect to see them on everything from flats to heels next season.

On the Toe

Two tones are better than one. Everywhere we looked, the standout shoes arrived with a contrasting cap toe. It's a classic detail that gives pumps, slingbacks, and flats an instant polish and Chanel, Celine, Valentino, and Max Mara were all in alignment.

Derbies, Oxfords, and Brogues

Jazz shoes, you're not going anywhere. The menswear-inspired lace-up is so back. Altuzarra, Celine, Ralph Lauren, Bottega Veneta, and Erdem all showed polished, structured flat-shoes that, despite, slight variations fall under the same academic-inspired lace-up theme. Ballerinas, who?

Fierce Finishes

Texture takes center stage with all manner of crocodile, snakeskin, lizard, and ostrich finishes defining what I'm sure will become spring's most sought-after shoes. Tory Burch, Ferragamo, Gucci, and Dries Van Noten all leaned into the luxe, tactile look, which brings instant richness to even the most minimal outfit.

Heavy Metal

Silver and gold are the finishing touch of the season. Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Chloé each sent out iridescent pairs that bring a high-impact glow to both day and night looks.

Woven Textures

Intricate weaving is adding an element of craftsmanship to spring's best footwear. Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, and Tory Burch all showed woven shoes with a tactile, artisanal feel that looks as good up close as it does from afar.
