Now that it’s November, the trickle of invites has quickly turned into a steady stream that has sparked some serious party-outfit planning. As someone who used to go out multiple times a week, I’m well-versed in pulling together a party-ready look at a moment’s notice, and I’m a proud serial outfit repeater, albeit with different groups in different settings. It’s all about the high-low mix for me, with one unexpected (and conversation-starting) detail.
Fashion for autumn/winter 2026 is particularly expressive, with vivid colours, bold textures and maximalist details doing most of the heavy lifting—sometimes all at once—and Mango’s premium collection, Selection, is doing all three very well indeed. A go-to IYKYK brand edit for many fashion insiders (myself included), Selection delivers season upon season. Year after year, what Mango does best via Selection is deliver distinctive, trend-conscious styles that look much more expensive than they are.
The quality and fabric choices in this biannual edit of designer-looking ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories are second to none on the high street and mean the pieces well exceed their price point. Selection simply elevates what Mango is already lauded for: inspired designs that bridge the gap between high street and high-end.

My day-to-day looks might skew sporty and subversive, but I’ve somehow curated a largely black party wardrobe. A failsafe array of separates and dresses that fit like a glove; I’m still on the hunt for the ultimate gold dress. I definitely need more colour options, but I’m very easily swayed by anything black if it seems cooler than what I already own. Sometimes there’s a disconnect between what you want versus what you actually need from your party pieces, but the Mango design team has nailed both with this Selection edit, in my opinion.
Modern and classy with stylish flashes of nostalgia, everything is truly versatile; from the dresses and tailoring to the footwear and outerwear, the whole edit can be effortlessly restyled for dinner, drinks, parties and themed get-togethers. I own more than a few Mango pieces, specifically the designer collaborations, so I was excited to dive into the latest Selection drop, and it didn't disappoint. Scroll to see the three looks I put together that are perfect for a busy few weeks of event-hopping.
1. The Little Black Dress

Style Notes: I’ve lost count of how many I’ve worn a little black dress over the years (all different shapes, fabrics and necklines), because the limit doesn't exist when it comes to styling possibilities or no-brainer occasions to wear one. There's talk of the bandage dress and the 'bodycon' style making a return—and this number makes a compelling case for its comeback.
Being 5'10", it’s definitely short on me, so keep that in mind if you’re tall (hence the tights). This knitted bandage fit has an outlined bust and a cinched waist, and there’s a little stretch that means it beautifully contours your curves. It’s smooth and soft against the skin, and a hidden side zip further defines the head-turning silhouette.
A NYE-worthy dress like this calls for sky-high heels, so I opted for snakeskin slingbacks instead of black to add personality and nod to one of this season’s biggest print trends. A pair of strappy mules—sans tights—would do the trick too. I’m a bit of a jewellery magpie with a preference for gold, but I had to add some sparkle with a gorgeous pair of cubic zirconia chandelier earrings. Are the two oversized cocktail rings I also wore a bit extra? Yes, but I love it. I was really feeling myself in this look, so don’t be surprised to see me in this exact getup again.

2. The Modern Disco Dress

Style Notes: Lavender is one of my go-to summer nail colours, so I was immediately attracted to this elegant asymmetric midi dress. Powdery pastels are less run-of-the-mill than a bold primary colour or a jewel tone at this time of year, and the silver necklace neckline is a genius detail, threaded through to create a halterneck and add edge to this light and sheer fabric. The dress hugs and drapes in a '70s-inspired way that would feel less modern disco and more boho with a print, and it has absolutely no stretch.
Grounding such a breezy and ethereal dress with this dramatic (and trending) faux-fur jacket worked better than I ever imagined. I thought I would prefer a longer coat, but I was mistaken: the boxy silhouette, statement cuffs and collar and sumptuous texture (it doesn't moult!) turn this look into a masterclass in calculated contrasts. The darker shading on the plush neutral exterior adds dimension and even more character, whilst the zip fastening is far more convenient than buttons, making it easy to shrug off at dinner.
Of all the heel options, the white, slightly elongated pointy court heels made the most sense to me as a directional choice and yet another contrasting element. Keeping them clean might be a palaver, but it’s totally worth it. I also accessorised this look with a graphic black box bag, which you could turn into a clutch by tucking in the strap, and the same gold earrings as before to clash with the silver neckline.

3. The Y2K Rhinestone Dress

Style Notes: On paper, a red rhinestone dress feels a little too on the nose during the festive period, but I decided to fight that feeling, and I’m so glad I did. This shimmering dress was my favourite of the bunch—a perplexing development as someone who only started wearing red recently, because it’s the colour of my football team’s biggest rivals.
It slipped on like a backless Y2K dream with no chance of a nipple slip, thanks to the high halterneck placement, and being 5'11", it definitely functions as an ultra-minidress, making tights essential. I styled this dress with dangly gold heart earrings to match the heels on the boots, and I’d recommend adding a long black coat for warmth and structure. I also quite like the idea of layering this over mid-blue denim to go down the "jeans and a nice top" route for impromptu drinks.
We have to talk about these amazing tall boots in more detail. They work so well with this dress because less leg is exposed, so they balance the outfit’s proportions visually, and I love how the black leather contrasts with the spindly gold heel. They're definitely more comfortable than they might look, with the pointy toe and high arch, and you can’t help but sashay with each step. The only other thing to flag is that they don’t have zips, so you’ll have to learn the knack of getting them off—or have some help.
