Consider this a PSA! It's time to wash your makeup brushes. Don't worry, dear reader; it's just as much a reminder for me as it is for you. As a beauty editor, I'm the first to admit that I could be more diligent about cleaning the tools that touch my face every day.
Celebrity makeup artist Lila Childs reminds me that there are two main reasons to clean your brushes consistently. First, it allows for smooth, seamless makeup application. (After all, if your brushes are gunked up with old foundation, concealer, and powder, it can lead to streaks, smears, pilling… You name it.) The second is hygiene.
